HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I'm a little late to the party. :) I will own that. Some things are more important than blogging and sending work-related emails.
I am not a big supporter of New Year's resolutions. If something needs to be changed, why wait for a new year when we are never even guaranteed another day?
However, I am totally into using the turning calendar as a time to reflect and assess what's working and where you want to go from there.
I also like to choose a word or theme for the year. My word for 2020 was EXCEL. The year started with a lot of promise, but I'm pretty sure the only things at which I excelled were emotional breakdowns and binge-eating chocolate.
This year I am choosing something that will require less self-judgement at year-end. My theme for this year is EXPLORATION and DISCOVERY. I'm entering the days with curiosity, trying new things, and learning more about what gives me hope, purpose, and joy.
I intend to explore some areas of interest I have pushed aside, try new hobbies, and live a little closer to the edge of my comfort zone.
Pushing my limits has brought so much excitement and satisfaction in the past, but I lost sight of that in 2020. Who didn't, really?
I have already been more entertained with myself in the first 2 weeks of 2021 than I have been in a long time. I am considering 2020 to be a season of dormancy. I assume I needed the rest and darkness in order to reemerge more vibrant than before.
So here I am! Ready to explore the road to discovering what's possible.
